Oakridges Master Bathroom Renovation (Part 3/3) - The shower. 

 

When a project turns out as good as this one its hard to choose one favourite feature, but if I had to pick just one it would have to be this new walk-in shower. 

 

This master bathroom underwent a complete switch in terms of where the vanity and shower were originally located in the bathroom, and in doing so greatly increased the functionality of the space. The shower was moved to this side of the room in order to allow for the complete wall to wall custom double vanity on the opposite side. This increased convenience and storage for the homeowner, and although the new shower is smaller in size, the trade off is well worth it. 

 

In order to have enough space on this side of the bathroom the entry door was re-located over to the center of the room. This gave enough room to install a shower with a 4’x3’ footprint, which made for the perfect balance of room inside the shower without taking over too much of the bathroom. 

 

The shower features a custom made quartz sill which matches the countertop on the vanity, with a beautiful and high quality Barrill shower fixture. The glass shower enclosure with black hardware keeps the bathroom feeling open while sticking with the black and white theme throughout the room.  

 

The homeowners made a great choice going with a vertical 12”x24” white shower wall tile with black veining that goes perfectly with the black hexagon mosaic on the shower floor. Wanting to keep the shower drain as “invisible” as possible, a tile-in insert was installed, and the mosaic pattern carried through to really give the shower floor a beautiful feature. 

 

Stepping over that old non-operational jacuzzi tub will definitely not be missed with this new beautiful walk-in shower.  What was once a bathroom with an out dated look and lacking in function, is now a stunning master bathroom with beautiful features throughout.
