Oakridges Master Bathroom Renovation (Part 1 /3) - The Vanity.

The renovation of this ensuite master bathroom took place this past January. The final product came out so great that I thought it would be a shame to limit how much of the renovation could be shown by organizing it into only one post.

To start, showing off this brand new custom double vanity with center storage tower seemed like the obvious choice. What used to be an old non-operational jacuzzi tub shower, is now the master vanity any homeowner would adore having in their home.

The homeowners had a great sense of design when choosing the colours for this vanity and theme for the bathroom, electing to go with a matte white shaker door profile with black accents coming from the handles and countertop. A great design aspect featured in this bathroom was the matching of this vanity countertop to the sill in the walk-in shower (shown in part 3 / 3). Both the counter and sill were cut from the same piece of quartz, perfectly complimenting one another when entering the bathroom.

Instead of simply painting the back wall of the vanity, the choice to tile behind the mirrors was made, and it was a decision that really took this vanity from great to something special. White hexagon mosaic, with black grain, and black grout was installed up the walls of this vanity behind the mirrors. The tile provides the waterproofing functionality along the back edge of the countertop, while also really boosting this vanity’s “wow” factor. A great choice by the homeowners, as this tile was the perfect look to compliment the vanity without totally stealing all of the aesthetic attention.

A couple of features I personally love about this vanity are the center tower cabinet, and wall mounted sink faucets. The increased storage that the center cabinet tower provides was a huge boost from a functional stand point in this bathroom and is great for storing smaller everyday used items like cologne and makeup. The design component that the wall mounted faucets add to this vanity speak for themselves, and are such a unique feature that add to making this custom vanity something special.
