Installed in conjunction with the previous flooring post, this kitchen floor underwent a major upgrade from the original builders tile.

The 12”x12 beige ceramic tile was chipped out of the space, and the original metal lath and mortar was also removed discarded. High quality Schluter Ditra was installed over the plywood as the new uncoupling membrane, and provided the best possible surface for installation of the new tile.

Matching the color scheme in the room, an off-white porcelain tile with grey grout lines was the choice for the new floors. The finished height of the new tile was installed to match the exact height of the touching hard wood flooring. Slow cuts, with a high quality wet saw were used to cut the tile next to the hardwood to avoid any chipping and create a perfect seamless transition for this kitchen floor.
