(Post Renovation)

(Pre-Renovation)

The second of two full bathroom renovation projects completed in this Brooklyn home.  For this project it was all about the adults with the renovation taking place in the upstairs master ensuite.

With there already being a new tub in the upstairs hallway bathroom, there was no longer a need to keep the same builder's tub as part of the shower configuration.  The old tub was removed, along with the ceiling bulkhead to open up this shower and make the space feel as big as possible.

Electing to go with the very popular modern black and white theme in the room, the tile on the shower walls was kept to a classic 16" x 4" subway ceramic so as to let the black accent pieces within the bathroom be the focal point of attention.  The best example of this being the beautiful black herringbone tile with subtle grey fading that the home owners chose for the floor.  The beautiful pattern of the herringbone installed on the floor of this bathroom grabs the attention of the entering user immediately, and then transitions well into a square 2"x 2" mosaic with matching colour for the shower floor.

Painting the walls of this bathroom white was a smart choice by the homeowners given the size of the bathroom and color theme, and mixing in a splash of color with the Oak colored vanity brings a cozy modern farmhouse feel into the bathroom.
