Another great example of updating a bathroom while on a budget is this Markham second floor Hallway Bathroom.

The homeowner of this fresh new bathroom made some great choices in updating this space while keeping the budget as low as possible.  The existing soaker tub was still in good shape, and just needed a bit of a paint job to the profiled shaker trim that was on the skirt of the tub.  Updating the tile to a bigger 24" x 24" porcelain with scrambled black veining turned this tub shower into a shower with some personality, while adding the custom double shelf niche added much needed storage for a bathroom shared by multiple young adults in the house. 

 

Accent pieces throughout the bathroom were all kept to black, and a new paint job to bring the room up to a present day feel were quick changes that make a big difference in the overall feel in the room. 

 

The existing cabinet base of the vanity was still in decent shape, and a swapping of the old green countertop to a modern grey quartz works great with both the new wall color and flooring.  The flooring installed in this bathroom is a luxury vinyl click flooring, perfect for wet areas as a fully synthetic product.  Luxury vinyl flooring is a great choice for bathrooms as it provides a flooring choice that looks updated, feels good to walk across, and is extremely resistant to water while being a very budget friendly product.
